Dan Curtis Giveaway comics were published by Western Publishing. A set of nine 6" x 3" mini-comics intended for use as vending machine premiums was printed around 1974. In addition to a pair of abridged Gold Key Star Trek comics, stories from Dark Shadows, Dagar the Invincible, Grimm's Ghost Stories, The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Turok Son of Stone, and the Twilight Zone were also reprinted. Evidently these comics are called Dan Curtis Giveaways because issue #1, Dark Shadows, is copyright Dan Curtis Productions. Dan Curtis produced the Dark Shadows television series, but didn't have anything to do with these comics. The W|S logo on the cover is for Watkins Strathmore Company, a division of Western Publishing.
