The second series DC Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation comics were published with direct market and newsstand editions. Direct market Star Trek issues #1 thru #53 and Star Trek: The Next Generation issues #1 thru #52 have a logo, text, or nothing at all where newsstand editions have a UPC barcode. Except for the first issue of each series, direct market issues include Canadian and UK prices. Most newsstand editions don't have a UK price. Issue dates may appear in different locations. Beginning November 1993 with Star Trek #54 and Star Trek: The Next Generation #53, direct market editions have a UPC barcode with the text "DIRECT SALES" while newsstand editions are unchanged. Issues #55 thru #63 of both series also have editions with a DC bullet or Star Trek logo instead of a barcode. These issues (see covers below) were sold in collector's packs. Collector's pack comics were bundled in a "brick" of 20 or 16 DC comics published that month, or in packages of two comics. Some of the issues bundled in collector's packs may be 2nd printings, and if so, are noted in the indicia.
